So for Cross Country we are doing this XC training. We are suppose to run 15 miles the first week, 20 the next, etc. This is the end of the first week. I have ran 13.8. I am sooo close. but my energy is COMPLETELY gone. Running that 4 miles a day is like getting put into a fight to the death arena. Everywhere you go you have people staring at you. You know you won't make it the full fight and should just give up now, but you put some effort into it any way. you start out feeling great, and then 5 minutes in, you are gasping for breath. 15 minutes in you are hiding in a dark corner and you finally step out and quit the game. And walk home.
Now think about all that as running. I LOVE running but it is hard work. The worst part about running outside is that the people in their cars just stare at you. It's awkward because you have your ugly running face on and they see you in the worst stage of beauty. Oh the joys of running.
